Anna, JR's wife, was blessed to grow up in a family that nurtured her sled dog dreams. Anna, 24 years old, was introduced to sled dogs at the age of seven by Jamie Nelson from Togo, Minnesota. Jamie is the 4 time John Beargrease Marathon Champion. This relationship with Nelson turned into a mentoring program for Anna. Learning the ways of a champion and the tricks of training sled dogs has helped Anna bring the best out of her team.
Anna's passion is racing her dogs. She has competed in a variety of races, for example the Diavik 150 stage race in Yellowknife NWT and the UP 200 distance race in upper Michigan. As a 10 year veteran of races Anna shows she has the long term commitment to the sport of sled dog racing.
Anna has an extensive background in dog obedience, showmanship, and dog agility training. She is a graphic artist by trade and works at her family's advertising business.
